As we prepare for Orange Shirt Day, and our support for our First Nations Community, students can purchase an “Orange Shirt” designed by Jan Martin. Jan is a Mi’kmaw Artist, Graphic Designer, Poet and Musician working across a variety of styles and mediums. Their life’s purpose is to influence society to value, support, and pursue the arts. $10 from each purchase goes towards Mawi’Art – An Indigenous-led organization that supports Indigenous artists in the region. Good evening Students, Parents, and Guardians of Sunny Brae Middle School,It’s that time of the year again, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome you back to school! We hope that you had an amazing and restful summer filled with adventures and memorable moments. Now, it’s time to dive into a brand-new school year, and we’re here to make it unforgettable! Here is some information to have before starting school, which will also be emailed and available on our school website.Firstly is our staggered entry plan for the first week back with students. All students will attend school on 3 out of 4 days for the first week only. This will allow teachers to get to know your child and complete some initial assessments, as well as students the opportunity to transition smoothly to back-to-school mode.On Tuesday, September 5th, ONLY students in Grades 5 and 6 will attend. Grade 7 and 8 students will stay home that day.   On Wednesday, September 6th and Thursday, September 7th – All students will attend.  On Friday, September 8th only students in Grades 7 and 8 will attend.
